Teen Writer's Workshop

I started writing in elementary school. Most of my stories were about girls who discovered treasure chests of jewels and found portals they could step into to get out of gym class. In short, I wrote to imagine, create, and escape into new worlds. By the time I was in high school it was clear to me that writing stories wasn't just about daydreaming, it was also a path toward making sense of, and surviving in, the world around me. Maybe you have been a storyteller for a while, or maybe you're in the process of discovering where writing fits into your life--either way there's a story in you that only you can tell and that others will want to read. At this personal manifesto writing workshop, we'll delve into the things that matter most to us, and talk about how we can make sure our writing reflects this. I hope to see you there!
