About the event
Nature Drawing While Being Read To — Trees, Poetry, and Reflection is a guided, contemplative workshop that blends creative practice with mindful listening. Participants will be invited to draw trees while poetry centered on trees, root systems, and canopies is read aloud. No drawing experience is necessary—this workshop emphasizes presence, observation, and personal expression rather than technical skill.
After the drawing session, participants will gather for a facilitated group reflection, exploring themes of interconnectedness, balance, and community as they appear in both the poems and the natural world. This shared conversation offers space to consider how natural systems mirror our own relationships and inner landscapes.
This workshop is ideal for anyone looking to slow down, engage creatively, and experience nature through both visual art and the written word in a supportive, welcoming environment.
This event is free and open to the public thanks to our partners at the Granville Community Foundation.
