Spring Acrylic Workshop

Service Description

Curious about acrylic painting but don’t know where to start? For anyone who has wanted to try painting, this one-time workshop will introduce students to making art with acrylics in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. We will explore using brushes and mixing color, as well as complete a painting of a flowering spring tree. No need to buy paints yet, the instructor provides all supplies. Students will explore different methods and motivations for creating expressive, stylized paintings. Students will gain confidence in expressing themselves through painting Projects to include: • Quick mark-making experiments with brushes, palette knives, and improvised tools. • Making marks with different acrylic painting tools. • Exploring the basics of mixing paint. • Creating a simple, one-session tree painting. All Materials instructor provided: • 12”x16” canvases (1 per student) • An assorted set of brushes with at least one 1” width or larger brush • Palettes • Acrylic in the following colors o white o black o cadmium yellow o cadmium or primary red o ultramarine blue o pthalo or viridian green o yellow ochre o burnt siena • Pencils and sketch paper

Cancellation Policy

Registrations may be cancelled up to one week prior to the class or workshop by contacting the Bryn Du office. Cancellations will be subject to a processing fee.
